Our Lord Jesus Christ institutes Holy Baptism in the last chapter of Matthew saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” In the sacrament of Holy Baptism, God uses the simple plain water in connection with His word to bring about new life, wash away our sin, and adopt us into His family.
At St. Luke, Dix Hills, NY, we baptize people of any age. Baptisms usually take place during our weekly 10:45AM Sunday morning service (or during July & August), at the 9:30AM service.
Private baptisms can be arranged with the Pastor. However, we encourage baptism in the context of a full worship experience. As a congregation we want to celebrate together with you on this blessed day! At St. Luke we all want to be a part of such a momentous occasion in a Christian’s life!
Please contact the church office using the button below or call the church office at (631) 499-8656 to request a baptism date or for more information. We will contact you as soon as possible.
Couples desiring to wed at St. Luke, Dix Hills, NY, should contact the church office to reserve a date as early as possible. Pre-marital counseling is required of all couples in order to enter into these life long vows with the sincerity and commitment they deserve.
St. Luke weddings are facilitated by planning ahead, meeting with you and your wedding party prior to the ceremony to (rehearse) walk you through the service. A soloist may also be obtained to perform if you wish. All music, reading, and vow options will be provided to you when you schedule your ceremony.
It is best for a wedding ceremony to be held in the church. The vows that you will make to each other should be done before God, in His house. Standing before God’s altar, receiving his blessing on your marriage is the perfect way to begin your life together.
Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and St. Luke wants to help you make that special commitment to each other in the presence of our Lord. Congratulations and please contact the church office at (631) 499-8656 for more details and to secure your ceremony date as early as possible! Click the link below.
When you lose a loved one, it is difficult to grieve your loss and plan a funeral or memorial service at the same time. At St. Luke, Dix Hills, NY, we try to make this process as easy as possible for you, while honoring the life of your loved one who has departed in the faith.
After a death, we urge you to contact the church office as soon as possible to let us know so we can minister to you during this time of bereavement and begin planning for the service. We can help make the process of arranging the service much easier for you during this complicated time.
After the service is scheduled, you will meet with Pastor Minnix and at that time you will go through hymn and scripture reading
options.
Funeral services can be performed both in
the church or at a funeral home, but we encourage the use of the church for
funerals of members of the congregation.
In the church, the message of “life eternal” is proclaimed. At a funeral
people may wish to gather around the same pulpit and altar from which the Word
of Life has come to them.
